10:57 am - LG Chocolate flip

jenisnape
Hi!

I have a Chcolate flip (8600) Telus phone that I need to get rid of (as I'm moving out of the country and I won't be able to use it!).

It's only been used for 5 months and has hardly any wear at all!
It will come with a clear hard plastic cover too.
It also will come with all the cords, and the memory reader and micro SD card.
I paid full for it (as I didn't want a contract) and I know I won't be getting nearly as much as I paid so I'm asking for half the price I paid which would be $150.00... OBO.
If you want pictures or more info email me :)
Also, depending on where you are, I might include free shipping.

also, mods, if this isn't allowed please feel free to delete.

12:25 pm - FIDO question

zoobie
I am a customer most of you working for wireless companies absolutely hate. I always pay my amounts past due (mainly because I don't get paid until the balance is due)

The past two months I have severely messed up due to personal reasons (sick dog, self getting tested for cancer etc) and didn't pay my last amount in full. As a consequence, I was past due $180.00 that had to be paid at the end of last month.

I just paid it off yesterday via online banking.

My questions are the following:
1. How long does payment usually take to clear?
2. How long till someone over at FIDO turns off my account? :( (I keep missing their phonecalls, and to be quite honest I'm pretty scared of talking to them because I'll get yelled at)

Thanks and I'm sorry if you work for FIDO :(

2:44 am - TIME CHANGE - UPDATE

matthewpilon
It's now been over 24 hours since the time change occurred and my cell phone has still not been updated. I've turned it on and off a few times throughout the day, and nothing happened. If I wake up tomorrow and it hasn't been updated yet, I'm calling customer service.

Has anyone else had this problem today?

current mood: annoyed

2:24 pm - TIME CHANGE

matthewpilon
It has been 12 hours since the time change, and my cell phone has NOT been updated yet. It's automatic, as it gets the time and so on from the network - but it is still an hour off.

Is it just me? Is anyone else's phone still an hour behind?

I'm with Bell, but I heard from my friend that Telus wasn't updated either, at least this morning - I'm sure she'll post about it in here though - it's a funny story!

1:05 pm - Question.

perfectperfume

Hey guys.  I was wondering if any of you knew about the use of Sidekicks in Canada.  I know that we have Hiptops here, which are like the exact same thing.  But I really want the Juicy Couture Sidekick II (which is American and supported by T-Mobile).  I was wondering if it's possible to have it activated by a provider available in Canada (such as Telus or Rogers).  And I've also heard some talk about T-Mobile in Canada but I haven't been able to find anything; so if you know anything about this, please let me know.

Thank you!

I'm thinking about getting a cellphone... but, I'm only 17. I have some questions;

  1. I want a contract... it's the Telus $15/month 2-3 year contract. Do I need a co-signer?
  2. Do I, or the co-signer, need a credit card to get a contract?

Well, I'm almost positive I need a co-signer, but I'm not sure about the credit card thing. I hope I'm wrong with that one, because my parents don't have a credit card. Heh.

Thanks.

8:36 am - PROVIDERS

matthewpilon
I'm in the market for a new cell phone. Currently I'm with Bell using prepaid service on a 4-5 year phone. It's time to upgrade. Plus, my attenea fell off =P

My question to you is: which provider do you use?

I'm considering going on an actual plan this time around, but I dont want to paying through the nose. I'm looking for free evenings and weekends, a decent amount of text messaging, call display and voicemail.

Is it true that for a small fee your "evenings" can start earlier?

Just looking for some advice I guess. Thanks!

3:14 am - t-mobile

disclaimher
Hi everyone,
I've only been a t-mobile customer for a month now, and am already dissapointed in their service. For the past week or two, I can't get a signal anywhere- I mean anywhere in my city. Normally it works well outside of my home, but now I can drive from my home to anyplace and sit outside, and not be able to dial out.

What should I do? Is it possible to switch services because t-mobile won't let me dial out or get calls?

i have the lg vx 6000---->

and you know how Xringer comes on the phone automatically? apparently its only demos so i went to the shopping cart icon and went to get tones and downloaded Xringer again, and Xringer2 came up after i downloaded it so im assuming Xringer2 means the real bought version. i was about to buy it but then it said Free-Expires Dec. 23 so im like okay ill do it for free. so then i go into the program and download a ringtone, and it says "Charges for one download will occur" so i pressed okay and it downloaded but i cant find it anywhere...i looked through the Music folder, and threw the Sounds folder. What did I do wrong? did it actually download?

5:33 pm - internal antenna

disclaimher
Hi everyone,
My name is Jane, and I am new to cell phones in general. My mom just got my family a T-mobile family share plan, and I have been really excited to use my cell phone now. The problem is though, my cell phone only works in two spots while I am in my house, and I don't really leave my house all that much. It seems silly for me to have to go outside during the cold winter just to make a call.

my friend suggested I get an internal antenna because that might help. I've found a lot of them online, but can't tell which ones work and which are bogus. Does anyone have any suggestions or references as to an internal antenna I should look into?

12:43 am - Blocking Calls from Someone

cordiform

Hey there... first of all, I'm surprised to find a community on livejournal that's dealing with Canadian wireless phones! Way to go :)!

I have a simple question. Someone that I know keeps on calling me on the cell phone all the time, and it's getting to a point where I don't answer any phone calls from him. Is there any way to block any phone calls from a certain phone number so that I don't get any calls from this guy? Please let me know, thank you so much!

By the way, I have Bell Mobility. :)

1:14 am - Problems with Fido.

angylgirl
I want to know if anyone here has had problems with fido, brace yourself for a story - here's ours -

we purchased two phones from a dealership about 2 months ago, we switched them 14 days later for the ericsson z600's, GREAT phones.

Problem was, our first bill from Fido was $986. Obviously, I Freaked out and called them, they told me all the charges WERE justified, yet no one told us about the $250 deposits since we had 2 phones on one account. We switched my phone into MY name, and they charged us another $500 in cancellation fees!

Numerous times I called them screaming, wanting to speak to a supervisor and they refused to transfer me, is that normal?

I was also told that unless an operator leaves a comment on your file, there is no way for anyone to tell they were in it, is that true?

Any help would be appreciated, we are looking into suing fido for breach of contract on their part to get out of our 2 year contract.
